South Central Premier Soccer Club (SCP)
Overview
Non-profit premier soccer club located at 115 Royal Oak Circle, Meriden, CT 06450. One of the longest-operating clubs in Connecticut. Programs from U8 to U19.
Current Status
Merged with / absorbed by CT Rush. Forum sources indicate SCP had struggled with declining teams and the Rush acquisition was motivated in part by control of the Sportsplex facility in Meriden. Described as “more of a takeover than a merger” — SCP never recovered from previous transitions.

Historical reference. The SCP/Rush merger is a precedent for consolidation activity in the CT market. The Meriden Sportsplex facility control was reportedly a key driver of the deal.
