Texas Youth Soccer Association (TYSA)
Overview
TYSA is the US Youth Soccer (USYS) member state association for Texas, one of the largest state associations in the country. Governs recreational and competitive youth soccer across all Texas regions. Note: unlike most states, Texas historically split USYS governance between North Texas Soccer (NTX) for the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and TYSA proper for the remainder. Research needed to confirm current structure and whether these have merged or remain distinct entities.
Structure
Boys and girls divisions from recreational through state cup competitive tiers. Annual TYSA State Cup across age groups. Three primary soccer markets: DFW (Dallas-Ft. Worth), Houston, and Austin, each with distinct competitive ecosystems.
Player Pathway
