City of Oaks Classic
Overview
The City of Oaks Classic is an annual youth soccer tournament hosted by NCFC Youth (North Carolina FC Youth) in Raleigh, North Carolina. The 2026 edition runs May 9–10 at WRAL Soccer Park in Raleigh. Open to Boys and Girls U9–U19 at Classic, Challenge, and Recreation competitive levels. In 2026, the NCFC Youth Rec Cup was merged into the same weekend as the City of Oaks Classic. Entry fees range from $475–$745. Registration deadline was April 15, 2026. Tournament Director: Ryan Holbrook (919-834-3951).
Ownership & Operations
Organized by NCFC Youth, the youth academy and club arm of North Carolina FC, based in Raleigh. NCFC Youth is one of the largest and most prominent youth soccer organizations in the Carolinas, operating programs from recreational through elite levels. NCFC Youth also hosts the separate NCFC Showcase (a college-recruiting focused event).
Sanctioning
Sanctioned by the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NC Soccer / USYS). The 2026 event is listed on ncsoccer.org as an NCYS-sanctioned tournament.
Reputation & Tier
Tier 3 regional event. WRAL Soccer Park is one of North Carolina’s premier multi-field youth soccer facilities and serves as the home complex for NCFC Youth. The tournament draws broadly from the Triangle region and surrounding North Carolina market.
Notes
“City of Oaks” is a nickname for Raleigh, NC. The 2026 merging of the Rec Cup into the City of Oaks Classic weekend increases the overall team count and broadens the competitive level range. NCFC Youth’s flagship recruiting event is the separately run NCFC Showcase.
