Copa Surf Northwest Indiana

Overview

The Copa Surf Northwest Indiana is a newly established youth soccer tournament in the northwest Indiana market, scheduled for June 12–14, 2026. The event is the inaugural Copa Surf edition for the NW Indiana region following Allegiant FC’s affiliation with Surf Soccer Nation in early 2026. It is designed as a high-energy, elite-level tournament bringing the Surf brand’s competitive format to the greater Chicago/Lake Michigan southern shore market.

Ownership & Operations

Hosted by what was formerly Allegiant FC, which rebranded as Northwest Indiana Surf effective March 2026 upon joining the Surf Nation network of affiliated clubs. Surf Nation is a national network of youth soccer clubs operating under the Surf brand, with Copa Surf events run at multiple regional nodes across the country. The Northwest Indiana affiliate is the newest addition to that network.

Economics

Entry fees in line with Surf network events ($700–$1,000 per team depending on age group). The Copa Surf brand carries a stay-to-play component at most locations. As the first Copa Surf event in northwest Indiana, 2026 team count is not yet established.

Sanctioning

US Club Soccer sanctioned per the US Club Soccer sanctioned tournament list (2026).

Reputation & Tier

Regional Tier 3–4; brand-new event in 2026. The Surf Nation affiliation elevates the tournament’s marketing reach and grants access to the broader Surf network’s participating club base, potentially accelerating early-year growth beyond what a standalone local event could achieve.

Notes

The Allegiant FC → Northwest Indiana Surf rebrand in March 2026 is a notable example of a national club network expanding into a new Great Lakes market. The Copa Surf NW Indiana is the anchor public event of that transition. Northwest Indiana sits within the broader Chicagoland market, giving the tournament access to one of the densest youth soccer populations in the Midwest.
