Gateway Memorial Classic

Overview

The Gateway Memorial Classic is a major annual youth soccer tournament co-hosted by SLSG (St. Louis Scott Gallagher) and Lou Fusz Athletic (LFA) in the St. Louis, Missouri area. The 2026 edition is the 10th annual event, scheduled for May 22–24 with no Monday games. Venues include World Famous Soccer Park in Fenton, MO, LFA Soccer Complex, and LFA Training Center. Open to Boys and Girls U9–U19 and Men’s/Women’s 19U in open divisions. The event consistently draws 200+ team applications from more than 10 states.

Ownership & Operations

Co-organized by St. Louis Scott Gallagher (SLSG) and Lou Fusz Athletic, two of St. Louis’s largest and most storied youth soccer organizations. The partnership leverages both clubs’ facility networks across the Fenton / south St. Louis area.

Economics

Entry fees range from $675–$925 per team. Schedule: Friday local/available out-of-town teams; Saturday–Sunday pool play and playoffs. Key deadlines for 2026: Registration May 1, Payment May 3, Bracket Release May 7, Schedule Release May 14.

Sanctioning

Sanctioned by US Club Soccer. Open to teams from all USSF-affiliated organizations in multiple divisions per age group.

Reputation & Tier

Tier 2 regional event with demonstrated multi-state draw. At 10 years old and consistently 200+ teams from 10+ states, the Gateway Memorial Classic is the premier end-of-spring tournament in the St. Louis market. Strong fit for teams preparing for State Cup and Regional competition.

Notes

“World Famous Soccer Park” in Fenton, MO is a well-known national-class youth soccer facility and a central anchor for St. Louis-area tournament activity. The SLSG–LFA co-production model is a notable operational feature unique to this event within the Missouri tournament landscape.
