Cal South is one of two regional US Youth Soccer (USYS) state associations in California, governing recreational and competitive youth soccer in Southern California (south of the Tehachapi Mountains). With an estimated 200,000+ registered players, Cal South is one of the largest state associations nationally. It sits alongside Cal North (NorCal Premier Soccer) as California’s two USYS member associations. Administers the SoCal State Cup, Cal South State League, and ODP programs.
Structure
Boys and girls divisions from recreational through state cup competitive tiers. Annual Cal South State Cup qualifies for USYS Regional and National Championships. Six major sub-regions: Los Angeles, San Diego, Inland Empire, Orange County, Ventura, and the Coachella Valley.
Player Pathway
State competition sits beneath national platforms (ecnl, mls-next, girls-academy). Cal South affiliation is required for any club operating in SoCal; any platform acquisition in SoCal must maintain this relationship. Pioneer Sports Group (Surf SC, Rush Soccer) has deep Cal South market presence.
