Background

A Minneapolis native, Tamba Johnson played NCAA Division I soccer at the University of Wisconsin before returning to Minnesota and joining the Thunder professional club. He has coached and directed at Minneapolis United for over 20 years, making him one of the longest-tenured technical leaders in Minnesota youth soccer. He is widely regarded in the Minnesota soccer community as “synonymous with boys’ soccer in the state.”

As Technical Director, Johnson is responsible for the competitive vision and structure of the traveling program, as well as hiring and developing coaching staff.
