Minnesota NPL
Overview
The Minnesota NPL (National Premier League) is one of 18 member leagues within the US Club Soccer NPL platform, administered by Twin Cities Soccer Leagues (TCSL) in Minnesota. It is a merit-based competition: teams earn entry through performance at the TCSL regional level. League winners advance to the NPL Finals, held in Colorado each July.
Structure
- Administered by tcsl (Twin Cities Soccer Leagues)
- Single division structure as of 2025-26 (merged from former Premier/Standard split)
- Pathway: TCSL Regional → Minnesota NPL → NPL Finals (US Club Soccer)
- Boys and girls competition; age groups U13–U19
Player Pathway
Minnesota NPL sits above TCSL regional play and below the national ECNL-RL and MLS Next platforms. As of 2025-26, ECNL RL-Twin Cities (ECNL partnership) was established as the top tier within the TCSL structure, above the NPL. NPL winners advance to the US Club Soccer NPL Finals nationally.
