Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA)
Overview
VYSA is the US Youth Soccer (USYS) member state association for Virginia. One of 54 USYS state associations. Governs recreational and competitive youth soccer statewide. Operates the VYSA Soccer Training Center (50 acres, Fredericksburg) as its flagship facility. Virginia is one of the strongest youth soccer markets in the Mid-Atlantic, anchored by the Northern Virginia corridor with $9M+ in club revenues and deep ECNL representation.
Structure
Boys and girls divisions from recreational through state cup competitive tiers across age groups U9–U19. The annual VYSA State Cup qualifies for USYS Regional and National Championships. ODP program feeds into regional and national player pools. Northern Virginia, Richmond, and Hampton Roads are the three primary sub-markets.
Player Pathway
State competition sits beneath national platforms (ecnl, mls-next, girls-academy). Several Virginia clubs hold dual ECNL/MLS Next franchises, reflecting the depth of the market.
